This is a live performance of me playing a piece I wrote a little while ago. Live performance in Oakland, CA. Continue reading
Last year I got married on February 11th. As a special addition to the wedding, both me and my wife each sang songs we wrote for each other. I sang this song with the help of my brother Jonas (guitar/voice) and my buddy Josh Wolfer (voice). This one is dedicated to my wife Charr.
So I messed up, yes I did
And acted like i was just a dumb ass kid
And it upset you bad when I took it to the edge
so now I’m gonna make a new pledge:
Several weeks back I was fortunate to participate in a Holiday voice recital put together by Larisa Bryski for all of her vocal students. I have been working with Larisa since last May, and her help has been invaluable. It was also great to have my brother, Jonas, visiting from New York, and my wife Charr in attendance. Due to their excellent iPhone camera work I now have this video to show you. Enjoy!
This is a video from a show I did last May for the Music at Noon (“M.A.N.”) concerts at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sacramento, CA. Special thanks to Brad Slocum for his fine video work for this performance and for being the founder and organizer of this great Sacramento weekly event. More at http://www.westminsac.org/music-noon
Live performance playing for a fundraiser at El Camino High School in Sacramento, 12/14/12, with the Aviators. I’m singing and playing keys. Quality isn’t ideal (low light, plus my mic level was too low), but some cool footage from a fun night. Special thanks to all the high school students who “shook it” for the song. The premiere of my original work Rapera, as part of Peninsula Teen Opera’s performances, happened on January 17th and 18th 2009 at Canada College in Redwood City. The talented teenagers of this unique opera workshop program worked diligently from October until January to bring to life a marvelous collection of fully-staged opera scenes, including condensed versions of Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach and Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck, as well as scenes from The Sound of Music, Pirates of Penzance , Carmen , Don Giovanni and others! I am honored to have my work included among this prestigious list, and it has truly been a delight to work with these gifted teenagers.
Special thanks to Allen and Hiltrud Cathcart from Peninsula Teen Opera for allowing me this amazing opportunity to share Rapera with you.
